We want to give you a little bit of background info on us as a brand and what’s been going on lately.

So, lets take it back to when we started. In 2019 after over 2 years of work behind the scenes I (Bec, founder & CEO) finally took the plunge and set up my own cosmetics brand. At the time I was a self employed Beautician / Nail Technician and I have always had the dream of owning my own branded products. ‘B. Cosmetics’ was created and we started out with our 3D Faux Mink Lashes and very quickly moved onto Cuticle Oil Pens followed by our now named ‘Lash & Brow Serum’. These were perfect for me to sell along side my business to clients. I had a few ideas for future products but nails took over my life and my brand took a back seat. When the pandemic hit in March 2020 and I had to close my business I had no idea what I was going to do. Seeing clients was my life and I was at a loss. I very quickly realised how less stressed, more in control of my emotions I was as lockdown began.. If you follow us on socials (specifically Instagram) you will have heard me talk about my mental health struggles a lot. I used to suffer massively with anxiety and panic attacks but over the years I’ve taught myself ways to calm myself down and help my mental wellbeing. I quickly realised how rushed, unhealthy and stressful my life was running a beauty business from my home with no room to really grow, running on very little fuel and putting other people’s feelings before my own. That was when my heart and soul became part of the brand.. I started working on products like our Nourishing Hand Cream and Lip Balms which I make in house. Followed by Self Tan, Lip Scrubs and more.. We now sell over 50 products with many more in the pipeline.

Around August 2020 I started talking about my mental health / wellbeing a lot. I talked about my ways of dealing with my anxieties and how using my products and taking time for self care was 90% of how I’ve changed my outlook on life. As our products became more popular, customers were messaging to say how having a small routine at the end of their day had helped them take more time for self care. I want our socials to be a happy, positive place so I share a lot about self care, body positivity, self love, manifestation and honesty about learning to love yourself, for you. I’m building a community rather than a following and I want everyone who uses our products or even just reads a quote or affirmation we have posted to know they are worthy.

December 2020 was when I really realised how big my brand was becoming, we went into another lockdown just before Christmas and I worked, hard. I put my everything into my goals for 2021 and where I wanted to be.. that was when ’The B Collection’ was born (well behind the scenes anyway). I made the tough decision but one I know is absolutely right for me to close my beauty business and allow The B Collection to become my full time ‘job’. This brand has helped me in ways some people will never understand, it’s as if this is where I am meant to be and what I’m meant to be doing. I have been on a huge personal journey the past few years and of course I still have my ‘off’ days which again, I am always very open about on our socials as I want everyone to know it’s okay to have down days, allow your body or mind to feel how it needs to feel but at the same time never give up. I usually go on stories to say how rubbish I feel then by the time I’ve finished talking, I’ve given myself a pep talk into being in a better mood. So I want to give that back to my customers, I want them to use my products to help them know they are worthy, they should take time for themselves, it isn’t selfish to turn your phone off and lie in the bath for 3 hours if that is what you need to do. We are all human, we’ve been through a lot the past year and it’s okay not to be okay.

Along side being a self love brand I am also very honest about my products. I’m not claiming they will cure someones acne or giving anyone unrealistic expectations of the results they will get from using the products, I simply say how good the ingredients are and that my main aim is for whoever uses them to feel better afterwards and to not feel selfish for taking time for self care.

We are all about real skin, real results, real bodies and real emotions.
